The Inka Jungle Route to Machu Picchu

The Inka Jungle Route to Machu Picchu.
4 days / 3 nights.

Visit Machu Picchu has been a dream or a project for many people from around the world. The classic way to get there is by train. However this way is expensive and offers very little for most of travellers looking for an authentic experience with local life and the environment.

The alternative way to get to Machu Picchu has been named The Inka Jungle Route to Machu Picchu because it includes sections of an ancient inka trail to walk through a subtropical forest on the Eastern slopes on the Andes facing the Amazon basin.

To add excitement to the journey we have created a route that includes biking from a high mountain top: Abra Malaga at 4,300 m.a.s.l. on a downhill road along the subtropical valley to Santa María village, here stay one night in a local family basic lodge.  Optional White Water Rafting is possible  here as well.

The next mornig the journey continues hiking on the inka trail heading to Santa Teresa.  Near the village and before arrival the termal springs pools are a splendid prize after the hiking day.  In Santa Teresa stay overnight in a local hotel.

The next day in the morning optional fun and exciting Zip-Line is possible. Then transfer to Hidroelectrica and continue hiking some three more hours to get Aguas Calientes, the village at the foothill of Machu Picchu.  In Aguas Calientes stay overnight in a local hotel.

The next day is the day of the glorious visit to Machu Picchu, a guided two hours tour will provide all suitable information about this place nowadays named as one of the Seven Wonders Of The World.
In the afternoon is the return trip to Ollantaytambo on tourist train and final transfer to Cusco
