The route runs from Chiclayo the capital city of Lambayeque region on northern Peru to Lima the capital city of the country on the central coast.
The route features the most relevant sites to visit along the way –historical sites, archaeological sites, museums, national parks, wildlife protected areas, beaches, villages, towns, cities, rivers, valleys, lagoons, ports, etc. The superb beauty scenery is unique, many sites plenned to visit are from our own experience so these sites are little known and almost never visited by regular tourists -this a truly Off The Beaten Path trip plan.

We have named this biking trip: Naylamp Bike Tour, the name stands after Naylamp the mythical founder of the Mochica kingdom. The legend says: Coming from the south and in front of a fleet of rafts, Naylamp arrived at the Lambayecan coasts. He was accompanied by an entourage of officials, versed in different arts and crafts, as well as his wife Ceterni and several concubines. He entered about 2 km from the coast, where he built a temple, which he named Chot (possibly the current Huaca Chotuna –huaca is the general local name given to an archaeological site) and placed in it an idol of green jade which he called Yampallec. From there would come the name of Lambayeque given to the region where the bike trip starts. This idol represented Naylamp himself. The Mochica reign lasted between 100 to 700 AD.
After careful study, reading and research, the route goes inspired on history, myths and legends following the trace of the mythical idol across his vast reign. The Mochica kingdom reached as far north as Piura and as far south as Ancash in central Peru. The first archaeological findings were in the Moche river valley, so is was named the Moche civilization, but also it is known as the Mochica civilization because the native language spoken by them: muchik, which is still in use in certain little ancient villages.
