When Paracas Trans Desert bike trip was planned the very first time we never imagined what was waiting for us. The journey ended to be so rewarding and greatly impressive after living the experience of the desert's secret revealed to us, it was a hit of luck when we discovered hidden never seen before ancient geoglyphs lost among the sand dunes in the middle of a Moon like territory.  After that and everything else found on the way we believe this option fully fits into the Off The Beaten Path category for bike touring and adventure biking enthusiasts.

 

 

We have developed and organized a biking trip to live experiences including true adventure excitement, Terra Incognita discovery, cultural immersion, creatures of nature watching, fun, good cycling and good food tasting.

 

We have organized this trip in versions: Full 4 days/3 nights, Medium 3 days/2 nights, Short 2 days/1 night and One Full Day.

All versions will include: Full time support 4x4 Land Rover vehicle. Mountain bikes for the trip across the Paracas National Reserve. Snacks, fresh fruits and drinking water.  Expert guides. GPS navigation equipment. SPOT remote tracking and satellite messenger equipment. Radio-Communication equipment. Mechanic support for the bikes. Medical kit and first aid in case of need. Photos and videos of the trip. Depending on the choosen version: camping equipment, food and hotel accommodation the last night in Paracas.

This is the season, all invited to live the desert experience.

Mountain Biking in Peru

After a slow trip on our classic and powerful Land Rover support vehicle climbing the rough and steep Andes mountains near Lima to what feels like the top of the world at 3700m altitude you are going to be rewarded with an amazing downhill experience, some bikers call this the best DH ride on Earth.  A ride that’ll have you at times thinking you were riding on the surface of the moon. Mountain biking in Peru is diverse in its trail offerings, but on this in particular be ready for stony sections, some sandy tricky slopes, exciting drops and very long funny flowy lines, all gravity assisted.

 

Unlike the groomed European ski fields that transform to summer mountain bike parks, the tracks here are through wilderness and generally narrower, steeper, and adrenalin inducing. A massive run up to 86 km in length and 3,600 meters of vertical descent from the Andean mountain tops to the Pacific Ocean – you could almost consider it mind blowing!

The price to go on this amazing bike trip varies with the group size. We know for some mountain biking enthusiasts it may be a bit expensive –if the group is too small, despite we try to reduce the operations cost to minimum, but for sure this unique experience is worth value.

An interesting experience for travelers who seek a deeper, more meaningful connection with Lima in a close up visit biking on the city streets, avenues, parks, boulevards, bike paths and main interest places including those little known sites and key details such as icons, symbols and monuments hiding encrypted bits of the city history and that embody the spirit of a journey of the Century Explorers Club.
In this easy bike ride the city reveals the truth of its occupation since the early pre-hispanic times, passing by the spanish colonial domination era and republican times to present days.

 

The Lima's highlights are included, such as: the Historic Center (downtown), the traditional and elegant Miraflores, San Isidro and Santa Beatriz neighborhoods. the 19th century Parque de la Exposición, Plaza San Martín, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Lima and San Francisco monastery, and much more...

After a lunch/snack break in a traditional old Lima place the ride continues by the nice residential areas of modern San Isidro and Miraflores on the Pacific Ocean seaside bike path.  

 

Have you ever tried the Peruvian Pisco Sour? The best in town is on our way right from the bar it was invented in the early 1900's. Bring some extra 20 soles (U$8) to try it and meet the Peruvian Pisco Sour's creator barman.

The ride goes by safe low traffic streets and bike paths.
